ÖAG Thanksgiving Dinner

Restaurant Brandhof (Gleisdorfergasse 10, 8010 Graz)

We are happy to inform you that we will host a Thanksgiving dinner again this year.

Our annual Thanksgiving dinner will again take place at Restaurant Brandhof (Gleisdorfergasse 10, 8010 Graz) on Tuesday, November 25, and we'll start at 6 p.m.

The meal will feature cream of pumpkin soup, some succulent turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and some other goodies as well as dessert. (Note: If you are veg*, please let us know, and we will endeavor to meet your culinary needs!)

Socrates Café

Bar Flora, Park Hotel Graz (Leonhardstraße 8, 8010 Graz)

Join us for our ongoing event, Socrates Café, on the first Wednesday of every month (holidays and times when people tend to be on vacation may necessitate changes).

This is a monthly discussion group, hosted by Nina Gettler, where topics are not dictated by a facilitator but are chosen by the attendees who bring their burning questions. While our questions tend toward the philosophical, this is not hard-core philosophy.

Time: 6:00 − 8:00 PM

Location: Bar Flora, Park Hotel, Leonhardstraße 8, 8010 Graz (walk past the reception desk, through a small seating area, and up a couple of steps).

We invite readers of all ages, from all disciplines and professions, and from all around the globe to join our group of passionate readers for regular meetings and discussions!

The Inter.Reading Book Club is a cooperation between the Austro-American Society for Styria and the Center for Inter-American Studies of the University of Graz.

We will kick off our semester on March 10, 2026, 5-6 pm at the Center for Inter-American Studies, Schubertstraße 21 (ground floor), 8010 Graz.

Celebrating the Magic of Numbers

The magic of numbers was celebrated at ÖAG headquarters in Vienna on January 21, 2026: 80 years Austrian-American Society (ÖAG), 250 years signing of the Declaration of Independence, 5 regional ÖAG associations (Salzburg, Tyrol, Carinthia, Upper Austria, and Styria), 300 guests and 2 ambassadors.

PaN-Price 2025

On October 22, 2025, the Austrian-American Society was honored with the annual PaN Prize awarded by Austria’s Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. Founded in 1946, the Society has long promoted friendship and understanding between Austria and the United States through a wide range of cultural and educational activities.
